What can we do, in a music industry still dominated by men, to work to restore balance?
CAMZ: It will take time to balance the scales, but some promoters are starting to adopt inclusiveness clauses for their events. It’s crazy to think that even today, many festival lineups are 90% male DJs. If promoters commit to inclusiveness, the public will eventually embrace this new approach – and once that happens, there will be no turning back.
Joyce Muniz: Any type of change must be made with intention. Labels and institutions must approach their releases with a selection of open-minded artists, including women, non-binary individuals, queer people, and people of color. There is a wealth of talent out there and today it is entirely possible to have a diverse roster of artists.
What events or music releases are you most looking forward to in 2025?
CAMZ: I can’t wait to take Lady Of The House to big conferences like Miami Music Week and IMS Ibiza.
Joyce Muniz: I’m really excited to be back with a new EP on Exploited Recordings, scheduled for release in April 2025. My remix for one of my favorite artists, Dina Summer, is also due out soon. Some exciting collaborations are also coming this year. But for now, I’m excited to spend some time in Brazil.
